Our Working to Change the World Plan

We believe what matters is measured. That’s why in 2021 we extended our commitment to ESG and to support common stakeholder capitalism metrics that focus on Planet, People & Prosperity, and Principles of Governance.

Our Working to Change the World Plan highlights our progress and plans for creating value for shareholders while operating a sustainable business model that addresses the long-term imperatives of society.

And we appointed our first Chief Sustainability Officer:

“We believe the future is one built on partnership and all that we can achieve collectively to create positive social impact and deliver on our purpose that meaningful and sustainable employment has the power to change the world.”

Ruth Harper

Chief Communications & Sustainability Officer

We continue to focus our commitments to scaling solutions and working with others who share our ambitions. We are proud to partner with global organizations including the World Economic Forum, UNHCR, Tent Partnership for Refugees, Junior Achievement and local partners on the ground – to accelerate action on the world’s most pressing challenges.

Planet: Setting Ambitious Climate Targets

In 2021 we were the first in our industry to have independent, scientifically-validated confirmation of our climate action targets by the Science Based Targets initiative – the leading authority driving corporate climate action.

Committing to these validated science-based targets to cut greenhouse gas emissions is the latest milestone in our Climate Action Plan and ambition to reach net zero by 2045 or sooner and gives all of our stakeholders – our employees, clients and candidates, supply chain, investors, and community partners – reassurance in our renewed commitment to People and Planet.

Gender diversity at the global leadership level by 2025

We are committed to continuously improving Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging so all people feel that differences are welcomed, respected and valued, and that they are able to bring their full selves to work.

We are proud of our progress in 2021 and committed to advancing further and faster in 2022 and beyond. Our Board of Directors has exceeded 30% gender diversity for more than 10 years, is 17% racially diverse and 33% non-US born. Our Executive Leadership Team, which reports directly to the CEO, is 27% women, 36% racially diverse and 72% non-US born. Our Global Leadership Team, the top 98 leaders in the company, is 33% women.

A number of our key markets, including Australia, Israel, Mexico, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland, have already achieved our current female leadership goal of 40% and inspired us to expand our ambition to 50% gender diversity at the global leadership level by 2025.

Principles of Governance: Recognition for Our Leadership & Ethical, Responsible Business Practices

We are consistently recognized for our ethical, responsible business practices and our commitment to driving positive change: in 2021 we were named World’s Most Ethical Company for the 12th year by Ethisphere, to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for the 13th year, and we earned new EcoVadis ratings in 7 countries in 2021, bringing our cumulative total of Platinum, Gold and Silver EcoVadis ratings to more than 24 countries and at the Global level in the last 5 years.
